SCISSS participated in the Bucharest Digital Innovation Summit

A delegation of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SCISSS) participated in the Bucharest Digital Innovation Summit, held in Bucharest, Romania, from 8 to 11 April. The event was organized by the Government of Romania, the Chamber of Deputies and ICI Bucharest.

The summit featured discussions on strengthening cooperation in the fields of digital technologies, cybersecurity and cyber diplomacy. At the opening ceremony, Major-General Azer Ahadov, Head of the Main Department of SCISSS, spoke about the opportunities and cyber risks arising from digital innovation, as well as the importance of international partnerships and strategic approaches. He also provided information on the international cyber diplomacy conference held in Azerbaijan and the training sessions organized within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between SCISSS and ICI Bucharest.

Within the framework of the summit, Tural Mammadov, CISO of SCISSS, participated in a panel discussion on the cybersecurity of energy infrastructure, highlighting the challenges arising from digitalization and the role of cyber diplomacy in this area. He noted that cyber diplomacy can play an important mediating role in addressing technological dependency, supply chain risks, cyberattacks and other related threats in increasingly digitalized systems, as well as in ensuring stability.
